In the morning Mick Jones, BBOWT Reserve's Volunteer Manager, will again show us around, selecting a different area from the one he showed us last year. Anyone who wishes to stay on for the afternoon, may do so, in which case, bring a picnic lunch.
Mick says "I'd like to show you around the Waterworks area itself as it has recovered really well after our drastic clearance last year and pony grazing over the winter. If we get good weather the butterflies could be interesting. After that, taking in Bittams Wood should be good - if it is sunny! We had plenty of Silver-washed Fritillaries, Purple and White-letter Hairstreaks and Purple Emperors on Sunday. We will get as far as the open area around Anthill and the Meadow Plots to see things like Wood Vetch."
