Start from Thomas Harding school car park (car sharing organised). A walk to see flowers, led by Dr. BRENDA HAROLD. Anyone wishing to go direct should be at the car park beside Christchurch on the Rickmansworth Road, grid ref. TQ 036965, almost opposite The Gate pub by 14.30. We will make a circuit of the Common, seeing woodland, ponds, and comparing the heathy grassland at the top of the common with the herb-rich chalk grassland in the south east. Total distance, not more than 2 miles, gentle walking with frequent flower-stops.
