National Trust Centres, Associations and Groups were originally formed by members who wanted to get something extra from their membership. They are linked to but independent of the National Trust. They arrange related activities for their own members and try to support the Trust both practically and financially.
Chelmsford and District Supporter Group has a programme of activities throughout the year. Evening meetings are held from September to April with a range of talks on heritage matters that allow members and visitors to socialise with like-minded people. We meet at Trinity Methodist Church, Rainsford Road, which is opposite the County Hotel.
Mostly in the summer we run day visits to places of interest such as the new garden at Kenilworth Castle and The Foundling Hospital in London. These allow us to raise funds in support of the work of National Trust in our Region. (All outings must be booked in advance.)
Chelmsford and District Supporter Group welcomes new members and visitors to join in any of the activities. We are also interested in hearing from people who may like to help with the running of our activities on either a regular or ad hoc basis.
To join the Group you must first be a member of National Trust or an affiliated organisation or a National Trust Volunteer. The annual membership rate is currently £5 for an individual and £9 for two people living at the same address. In return for your subscription you will receive two newsletters a year and standard price admission to meetings and outings. Visitors are welcome to attend evening meetings and join us on outings subject to spare places being available but will be asked to pay a bit extra.
