Bonby Village School openend in 1855 and ran until 1972 when pupils were transferred to Worlaby School.
The School was built at the end of what is now known as School Lane although the houses in School Lane are more recent. When travelling through the village from Worlaby to Saxby All Saints the entrance to School Lane was opposite the Reading Room and announced with a road sign (the Flaming Torch of Knowledge) See picture below.

We havent found many pictures of the school building in its original form, but one below does show the school building but date unknown.
