Auxiliary Unit Patrols were part of the preparations put in place in the event that Germans landed in England during the second world war.
The Auxiliary Units were a secret resistance network of highly trained volunteers prepared to be Britain's last ditch line of defence during World War Two. They operated in a network of cells from hidden underground bases around the UK.
Lincolnshire had 7 Groups spread geographically.
The Low Villages three patrols formed half of Lincolnshire Group 1 (along with Barton upon Humber, Burton upon Stather & Great Limber) and were based at Elsham, Worlaby & Saxby. Members of each patrol were kept completely unaware of other neighbouring patrols
