The Mole Valley Local Plan is being scrutinised by the Government Inspector Ms R Barrett with a view to testing its 'soundness.' The two areas to the west of Dorking town at Milton Court Lane, DS26 and at Sondes Place Farm DS24 were the subject of discussion yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 25th October 2022). The hearing session was due to begin at 14:00hrs but the morning session ran over and so the afternoon session did not begin until 14:35hrs. Some interesting comments especially from the prospective developer of the land (Gleesons) who seems to suggest that they have carried out surveys which inform them that the addition of over 200 homes will not impact the congestion at the junction of Vincent Lane and Westcott Road. Quite amazing how the drive to make millions of pounds in profit will make them say almost anything to justify their actions regardless of the consequences to local residents.
