Phase 1

The impact the proposed expansion of The Priory School will have on our local roads will be enormous. It will not only increase traffic at drop off and pick up times but throughout each and every day, to cope with the extra deliveries needed to support the 40% increase in pupil numbers.

The proposed traffic management scheme is a whitewash. It makes no provision at all to cope with the increased vehicular traffic or the extra car parking spaces needed for both staff and pupils, as a result there will be more congestion and increased on street parking adding more flow problems to the already congested roads.

Once again it is the long suffering residents of west Dorking who will have to put up with even more congestion on our roads leading to longer journey times and higher fuel bills, increased air pollution resulting in health problems for ourselves, our children and our grandchildren.

Enough is enough, surely we have tolerated this problem for many years now and all watched with dismay whilst planning applications have been agreed with token transport management plans which predictably only exacerbate the traffic problems. Far from any solutions being considered this most recent application highlights the total lack of concern the planners have for our health and well being.

**Update 11th June 2018**

Stephen Cooksey has replied to a request for information regarding the next steps in this process.
"I checked the current position on Friday and I understand that the school is currently working on an amended planning
application. County Planning doesn't know how this is proceeding and hasn't received any indication about when to
expect it from the school. When it is received it will go back for to all consultees for their comments before coming
to County Planning Committee. That does mean that Mole Valley will have a further opportunity to submit views and
Margaret has requested that the amended application come to MV Development Control Committee so that members have an
opportunity to determine the final consultation submission to County. I think that a letter from the Residents Association supporting submission to members would be helpful. I'll keep you informed when I know more."
