Welcome to The Real Junk Food Project- Twickenham.
We have been up and running for nearly two years, thanks to the support of the ETNA Community Centre, Greenwood Community Centre, SWLEN and our team of incredible volunteers.
We are running as a pop-up community café Mondays 11am - 1pm at the ETNA Community Centre, East Twickenham and Tuesdays 11am-1pm at the Greenwood Community Centre, Hampton Hill. It is great seeing the project grow. Along with all the support and love we receive from the local community.
We have an open-door policy, which means all are welcome to come and enjoy the café. Since opening our doors in June 2018 we have seen our café community grow not only in numbers; from the workers who have their offices within the centre, the local elderly community to families popping in for a bite to eat on their way passed. But also in demand, hence opening our second cafe in Hampton Hill this January 2020.
We are always looking for ways to expand our project, although we need help doing this. Please come forward with your ideas, volunteers and venues and contact us if you’d like to get involved, or happily keep watching this space to see what’s new…
Our aim is to reduce and educate ourselves about the amount of good food ending up in landfill, by turning the surplus food from local food retailers into delicious healthy meals. Feeding Bellies Not Bins!
