TRIPLE JEOPARDY LEAGUE

2026-2027

The Triple Jeopardy League (TJL) is a 7 week mini-league that follows on from the 14 week regular league. For the 2026-2027 season the TJL is a trial league to determine if the concept works.

Each team in the TJL is awarded a handicap based on their finishing position at the end of the 14 week regular league. The team that finished top of the 14 week league is given a handicap of zero. The team that finished second is given a handicap of 2, the third placed team a handicap of 3, and so on. The team that finished in 8th position being given a handicap of 8.

The fixtures are as shown on the main website. However it should be noted that in each TJL game the team that finished lower in the regular 14 week league has the first jack. This is indicated on the TJL match result sheet.

The regular results sheets have also been revised to show the handicap for each team, and where the handicap should be applied. The handicap is applied three times for each team in each match, hence the name of the league, Triple Jeopardy. The handicap is applied at the start of each game, and again at the end of the match when the aggregate scores for both teams have been calculated. This is clearly shown on the TJL match result sheets.

If you are unfamiliar with how the TJL match result sheet should be completed please ask Barry Axon, or any member of the committee.

The Rules for the Triple Jeopardy League will be the same as our current rules, as far as they apply. Which team has the first jack, and the scoring of TJL games and matches will be different as described above.
