Come along to hear Adam Sisman talk about his research and writing with Barrie Selwyn, RHACC Lead Tutor: School of Ideas and author and teacher Sandra Hempel. The focus will be on the art of biography.

Adam Sisman is a highly successful publisher, broadcaster and renowned biographer. Author of the award-winning Boswell’s Presumptuous Task and many other biographies, including The Friendship: Wordsworth and Coleridge and editorial projects including Mikhail Gorbachov’s Memoirs.
Adam Sisman went on to write his highly acclaimed John Le Carré: The Biography. Shortlisted for the international Pen award it has been published in Danish, Swedish, Polish and Japanese. In this book, Adam Sisman explores a character more enigmatic than his literary creations and brings to light the astonishing background to the making of this legend of the literary world.
Many of you will know Adam Sisman from his many media appearances. He has participated in numerous radio programmes around the world, including NPR’s ‘All Things Considered’, BBC’s ‘Start the Week’, ‘Front Row’ and ‘Meet the Author’ and has appeared on television on BBC Television, Sky Arts, and C-Span. A couple of years ago he took part in a BBC Radio ‘Head to Head’ programme with Richard J. Evans, Regius Professor of Modern History at Cambridge and President of Wolfson, Cambridge, in which they re-enacted the famous debate between A.J.P. Taylor and Hugh Trevor-Roper on the origins of the Second World War.
