At The CSHEN Project CIC, we support young people aged 16–25 (up to 30 if they have criminal justice experience) to thrive through personal development, life skills, rehabilitation, mentoring, and employment pathways in trades and entrepreneurship.

We specialise in working with young people who are disadvantaged, from low-income backgrounds, care-experienced, neurodiverse, from BAME communities, at risk of exclusion, known to the police, or criminal justice experienced.

Young Achievers

What it is:
Young Achievers is a 12-week, 7-session personal development coaching programme, delivered primarily on a 1:1 basis but adaptable for group delivery when requested. It gives young people the time and space to reflect, explore their identity, and develop confidence, resilience, and goals. Each session builds towards a personalised action plan for their next steps.

Outcomes: Young people become more confident and motivated, improve resilience, reduce their risk of exclusion or offending, and leave with a clear plan for education, training, or employment.

Who it’s for:
Young people aged 14-25 who are at risk of exclusion, lack confidence, or need direction and purpose in life.

Who can refer:
Referrals can be made by Local Authorities, schools, social workers, youth organisations, parents/carers, or directly through self-referral.

UNLOCKED

What it is:
UNLOCKED is a 12-week, 7-session personal development coaching programme tailored for young people with criminal justice experience (aged 18–30). Delivered mainly 1:1, it supports participants in rebuilding their identity, strengthening resilience, and making plans for a future away from offending. It also helps them explore pathways into trades, entrepreneurship, and employment.

Outcomes: Participants reduce their risk of reoffending, gain confidence and resilience, and leave with a reintegration plan and practical steps towards work, training, or enterprise.

Who it’s for:
16-30 year olds: Ex-offenders, young people on probation, or those leaving custody who are ready to make positive changes in their lives.

Who can refer:
Referrals can be made by Local Authorities, probation officers, prisons, youth offending services, or through self-referral.

Real Talk (Mentoring Programme)

What it is:
Real Talk is a 7-session mentoring programme delivered bi-weekly with check-in calls in the interim, giving young people consistent check-ins with relatable mentors. The mentoring relationship creates a safe space where participants can talk openly about identity, peer influence, relationships, and their future, while receiving guidance, encouragement, and accountability.

Outcomes: Young people gain self-awareness, improve their decision-making, strengthen resilience, and feel supported by having consistent role models in their lives.

Who it’s for:
11-30 year olds: Young people at risk of entering the criminal justice system, those lacking positive role models, offenders/ex offenders or those with low confidence who would benefit from regular mentoring support.

Who can refer:
Referrals can be made by Local Authorities, schools, youth services, probation and YOT services, community organisations, parents/carers, or directly by young people themselves.

LevelUP - GCSE Maths & English Pathway (COMING SOON)

What it is:
LevelUP is a 6-month academic and coaching programme designed to re-engage young people with education. It offers two routes: E-Lish (English, literacy, and communication) and M-tics (Maths, numeracy, and problem-solving).

Young people receive targeted support from expert teachers in the industry and are entered into GCSE exams to achieve formal qualifications.

After completing their chosen strand, participants progress into our ProPrep Pathway, where they receive practical support with CV writing, interviews, job applications, apprenticeships, or college placements.

Outcomes: Young people achieve GCSE qualifications, regain confidence in their learning ability, and move forward with clear routes into education, training, or employment.

Who it’s for:
Young people aged 16–19 (or up to 25 with criminal justice experience) who are NEET, at risk of entering the CJ system, on probation/YOT and have failed their GCSES and need to gain their GCSEs in Maths and/or English.

Who can refer:
Referrals accepted from Local authorities, schools, colleges, alternative provision, families, or through self-referral.

PluggedIN (Industry Taster Days)

What it is:
PluggedIN is a one-day careers and industry showcase that connects young people directly with businesses and professionals. Through talks, interactive workshops, and taster sessions, participants learn about different industries and discover new opportunities.

Outcomes: Young people broaden their career horizons, gain motivation to explore new options, and build professional networks they may not have had access to before.

Who it’s for:
16-30 year olds: Young people who are unsure about their career path or have limited exposure to industry networks.

Who can refer:
Referrals can be made by schools, youth organisations, Probation and YOT services or directly by young people. Businesses wanting to take part can also contact us.

Future Founders (Entrepreneurship Programme)

What it is:
Future Founders is a 5-session Introduction to entrepreneurship programme that empowers young people to think like business owners. It introduces them to planning, branding, marketing, pitching, and money management while giving them the confidence to turn their ideas into ventures or community projects.

Outcomes: Participants develop entrepreneurial and financial skills, grow in confidence, and create projects that open up alternative pathways into employment and enterprise.

Who it’s for:
16-25 year olds: Young people who have entrepreneurial interests or those who want to explore self-employment as a career pathway.

Who can refer:
Self-referrals welcome, with probation and YOT Services, schools and youth organisations also able to refer.

Family Mediation Service

What it is:
Our Family Mediation service provides a safe and structured space for families to work through conflict, improve communication, and rebuild relationships. Led by trained mediators, sessions allow each family member to have their voice heard while working towards practical solutions. The process is focused on reducing tension, strengthening bonds, and creating healthier home environments for young people.

Outcomes: Families develop better communication, reduce conflict at home, and create stronger support networks for young people. This leads to improved stability, wellbeing, and engagement in education or work.

Who it’s for: 13-30 year olds: Families experiencing conflict, particularly where breakdown in relationships is affecting a young person’s behaviour, mental health, or risk of exclusion/offending.

Who can refer: Referrals can be made by Probations, YOTs, Local Authority, schools, youth services, social workers, or directly by families who would like support.

One-Day Workshops

What it is:
We deliver a range of interactive one-day workshops designed to inspire, educate, and equip young people with practical skills. Workshops cover areas such as personal development, resilience, entrepreneurship, goal-setting, and employability. Each workshop is highly engaging, using activities and discussion to create lasting impact in a short timeframe.

Outcomes: Young people leave with new knowledge, improved confidence, and practical tools they can use immediately in their education, work, or personal lives. Workshops also act as tasters, encouraging participants to join our longer programmes.

Who it’s for: 11–25 (up to 30 with CJ experience). Schools, youth groups, alternative provision, and community organisations wanting a short but impactful intervention.

How to refer: Organisations can book directly through The CSHEN Project CIC to arrange a bespoke workshop for their young people.

Who can refer: Referrals can be made by Probations, YOTs, Local Authority, schools, youth services, social workers, or directly by families who would like support.

Reflective Practice (for Staff & Young People)

What it is:
Our Reflective Practice sessions create space for both staff teams and young people to pause, reflect, and learn from their experiences. For staff, this provides professional development, helping them explore challenges, share insights, and strengthen their practice. For young people, reflective practice builds self-awareness, encourages accountability, and supports personal growth.

Outcomes: Staff develop resilience, improved teamwork, and better strategies for working with young people. Young people gain self-awareness, learn to reflect on their choices, and develop healthier approaches to challenges.

Who it’s for: 11-30year olds (Young people) Staff of all ages: Youth organisations, schools, and community groups seeking reflective practice for staff teams, as well as young people who would benefit from guided reflection as part of their personal development journey.

How to refer: Organisations can commission Reflective Practice sessions directly. Young people may access reflective practice through referral to our wider programmes.

Who can refer: Referrals can be made by Probations, YOTs, Local Authority, schools, youth services, social workers, or directly by families who would like support.

Design Your Story - Music & Literature Programme (COMING SOON)

What it is:
Design Your Story is a 7–8 month creative arts programme where young people explore identity and self-expression through music and literature.

Participants will:

  • Write and record their own song

  • Create a life board mapping their past, present, and future

  • Produce a written piece such as poetry, spoken word, or storytelling

Outcomes: Young people build confidence, develop creative and communication skills, improve their wellbeing through expression, and feel empowered by transforming lived experiences into art.

Who it’s for:
16-30 year old creative young people who want to use music and literature to tell their story and express themselves in a safe and positive space.

How to refer:
Referrals will open soon for Probation and YOT Services, youth groups, community orgs and individuals.

Life Ready - Rehabilitation Programme (COMING SOON)

What it is:
Life Ready is a 9–12 month rehabilitation programme that provides consistent, long-term support for young people with criminal justice experience. It combines personal development, Life Skills, independence-building, and employment preparation with ongoing support, coaching and mentoring.

Outcomes: Young people reduce their risk of reoffending, develop essential life skills, reintegrate successfully into society, and gain sustainable routes into work, training, or enterprise.

Who it’s for:
16 - 30 Young offenders and ex-offenders who are preparing for or transitioning back into community life.

Who can refer:
Referrals via probation, prisons, or multiagency partners.

UPLIFT (Youth Multiagency Navigation Team)

What it is:
UPLIFT is a referral and update team where professionals come together to discuss cases, share referrals, and keep track of young people’s progress. By acting as a central point of contact, UPLIFT ensures no young person is left without support and that agencies work together effectively.

Outcomes: Young people receive more consistent and joined-up care, services collaborate more effectively, and progress is monitored to ensure accountability and long-term results.

Who it’s for:
16–25 (up to 30 with CJ experience): Young people with multiple needs who are already involved with services such as probation, youth offending teams, schools, or social services or young people at risk of being involved in the above services and need support.

Who can refer:
Multiagency partners, including schools, probation, police, and youth services, can make referrals through the UPLIFT team.

Step & Rep (Sponsored Walk)

What it is:
Step & Rep is our quarterly sponsored walk and awareness event. It is both a fundraiser and a community celebration, bringing young people, families, and supporters together to reflect, share stories, and celebrate resilience while raising vital funds for our programmes.

Outcomes: Awareness of youth issues is raised, communities are strengthened, and funds are generated to sustain and expand opportunities for young people.
