Episode - Intro

Episode 1

Why do we settle for unhealthy relationships just because they feel safe?

Listening to women share their stories, I realise how much we’ve been conditioned to prioritise safety over genuine connection.

Tasha stayed with a man for 10 years, not because he was perfect, but because she felt safe—comfortable enough to let her guard down, be herself, and focus on her kids. It’s a common narrative: safety and familiarity can sometimes feel like love, even when it’s not.

But safety shouldn’t come at the expense of attraction or genuine respect. We deserve more than just a “safe” zone; we deserve to feel inspired, valued, and truly loved.

Maybe that’s the point—building a relationship that nurtures our mind, body, and spirit, not just protects us from harm.

Worth thinking about.

Episode 2

Episode 2: Motherhood, Migration & Mental Health – Voices from the Diaspora
In this second episode of our 16 Days of Activism: Real Talk podcast, we continue our powerful conversation by centring the lived experiences of African and Caribbean women navigating motherhood, migration, and mental health. Through honest storytelling, we explore the emotional impact of family separation, cultural stigma, housing instability, and the ongoing struggle for safety and healing. This episode sheds light on how women survive systems that fail them — and how community, care, and resilience keep them going.
