The march meeting of Shevington garden Club was a great success with Ian Sutherland as our speaker. As Ian has won the national dahlia championships four times this proved to be a very popular talk. Ian attracted not only many of our regular members but interested parties from Chorley, Blackburn, Rainford, Skelmersdale, Standish and one gentleman travelled from north Wales for the talk.
Ian guided us through from winter storage to starting the tubers into growth in the green house, taking cuttings to propagate new plants. Then taking us through the growing process in the way that achieves best results and then how to display them on the show bench to optimum effect.
