Volunteer Vacancies
We are currently looking for people to fill some important positions within our Church Committees. Role profiles are available here and support provided will be provided to support and volunteer interested in taking on a role. The licensing of Reverend Simon Piercy
An evening of celebration was held at St Cynfarch’s Church, Hope when the Bishop of St.Asaph, the Right Reverend Gregory Cameron, licensed the Reverend Simon Piercy as priest-in-charge of the churches of St Cynfarch's Hope, Emmanuel Penyffordd and St John's Penymynydd.
The evening began with a celebratory service conducted by the Bishop, with the Archdeacon of the Wrexham, the Venerable Dr Hayley Matthews.
In attendance were Councillors Mr and Mrs Healy and the Headteacher and children of Golftyn Lane School where Simon was Deputy Head Teacher.
St John's Community Choir, which Simon founded 10 years ago were also in attendance and sang benedictus and a lovely version of The Lord's Prayer.
The licensing of Reverend Jenny Clarke
An evening of celebration was held at St Matthew’s Church, Buckley when the Bishop of St.Asaph, the Right Reverend Gregory Cameron, licensed the Reverend Jenny Clarke as priest-in-charge of the churches of St Matthew’s Buckley, The Church of the Good Shepherd Drury and The Church of the Holy Spirit Ewloe.
The evening began with a celebratory service conducted by the Bishop, with the Archdeacon of the Wrexham, the Venerable Dr Hayley Matthews.
In attendance were the High Sheriff of Clwyd Julie Gillbanks, Lord Barry Jones, Mayor of Buckley Town Council Lorraine Rathbone, together with other members of the local councils.
A large congregation included members from Jenny’s previous parishes in Anglesey.
The evening finished with a buffet prepared by volunteers from the three churches and was enjoyed by more than 100 people.
