Princes Risborough North Signal Box is an impressive 118 year old mechanical signal box built to the standard Great Western Railway design of the day. It was closed in 1991, ending 87 years of controlling trains through the Chilterns when computers based in Marylebone took over controlling the signalling of the line.
After spending many years in a state of dereliction, the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway Association embarked on a restoration program and after a 30 year gap, the grand old signal box is once again controlling the movement of heritage steam trains running on the Chinnor & Princes Risborough preserved Heritage Railway.
