POVERTY CONCERN UK

We are active as a voice in Enfield on behalf of all people from the Horn of Africa, working with council and borough-wide agencies to promote awareness of the issues faced by refugees and economic migrants to the UK.

We provide a trusted source of support to people who have suffered trauma or abuse and are attempting to make a new life in the UK.

Since its creation, we have worked to alleviate poverty and advance the welfare of people in Enfield who have come from the Horn of Africa – Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, and Sudan.

We do this by providing comprehensive support, training, Education, and advice to adults and children.

This includes – welfare, immigration and benefits advice; language translation; employment training; functional skills training; and supplementary education. We are also a point of contact for community issues and work with Enfield Safer Neighborhoods team and Enfield council to mediate domestic abuse, anti-social behavior, and forced marriages.

Our volunteers serve by working with children and families, immigrants and refugees, offenders, ex-offenders and victims through activities, workshops, fundraising and events.

We provide a trusted source of support to people who have suffered trauma or abuse and are attempting to make a new life in the UK.

With the help of ordinary people, our work benefits the community. You can also support the efforts of Poverty Concern UK by making a convenient donation.
