♣️ The Monday Bridge Club began life in the late eighties, founded by the much-loved Pat Thomson. Living on Caldervale Road in Clapham 📍, Pat hosted the club quite literally around her own tables, welcoming four or five tables’ worth of players into her home. Many of them were students from the Monday evening bridge class at St Francis Xavier College 🎓 in Wandsworth, where Pat herself had learned the game.

♥️ After Pat’s passing in 1996, the club found a new home in Balham under the steady guidance of Roger Fellows. In 2003 it moved again, this time to Tooting, continuing to grow in strength and spirit.

♦️ A major milestone came on 1 July 2012, when the group formally became a members’ club, run by an elected committee. Over the years we have had to relocate several times due to circumstances beyond our control, but throughout every move the club has remained warm, welcoming, and resilient.

♠️ We are currently based at the Battersea Labour Club 📍, where Monday evenings are all about friendly faces and enjoyable bridge. Join us — come and play, and add your own chapter to our history.
