Field Trip – Alresford Creek
Sunday 12 October 2025
15:30 to 18:30
Meeting at the Ruins of St Peter's church - you can park at the war memorial.
Alresford Creek is a tidal creek near Alresford and is a tributary of the River Colne known for waterside walks, birding, and recreational boating. Historically, it was a commercial waterway, but it now serves as a base for the Alresford Creek Boat Owners Cooperative, which manages moorings and conservation. The creek is a popular spot for walks, offering scenic views and birdwatching opportunities. We will meet at the ruins of St Peter’s Church and walk down the path which follows a hedgerow and affords lovely views across the Colne estuary. We will then continue on this path, through the woods until we reach the track by the estuary.
