Field Trip: Wivenhoe Woods - Fungi

Wivenhoe Woods covers the largest area of the Colne Local Nature Reserve and is found at the central and southern end. The main woodland tree species are Sweet Chestnut although there are a total of 16 tree species on the site including Oak, Field Maple and a number of small Elms. Also discover the fascinating range of mushrooms and toadstools that grow here.
MDPS are meeting in the small car park at the end of Rosabelle Avenue (CO7 9PA)
https://maps.app.goo.gl/3ReTzCb1ZebrfBkc8) there's also plenty of parking on the road. There is a picnic area so members might like to bring some snacks/drinks. The nearest public toilets are located in Wivenhoe High Street Car Park, which is a 3 min drive/13 min walk from where we are meeting.
