Workday - Dunham Massey

Sunday 01 November 2020
09:30 to 15:30

We are back at Dunham Massey.

Dunham Massey was home to the Earls of Warrington and then the Earls of Stamford and the deer park covers an area of 192.7 acres and features formal avenues, woodland and parkland. The parkland is occupied by a herd of fallow deer that have been resident in the park for hundreds of years. The woodland area has a magnificent collection of ancient trees. Many of the giant oak trees dating back as far as the 17th century, a true rarity in Britain today. As such, it is considered a site of national importance. Having not been to Dunham Massey for sometime before this year, Lead Ranger Craig had asked for our help as he had many tasks for us to take part in this could have involve pond work, footpath maintenance, tree planting, woodland work and fence repairs but due to the pandemic that hit our shores in March he didn't get much of his list done so we hope to help the team at Dunham get back on track, what the task will be we are not yet sure but we hope it will be hard work but also lots of fun.

Meet in the main carpark @ 9.30
