50th Anniversary

September 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Lydian Choir. There are a number of founder members still singing with us and we plan to celebrate with various events starting with an anniversary concert on 28th September, exactly 50 years after our first performance. Look out for more details....

2014 Christmas Concert raises money for charity

As usual we held our annual Christmas Concert at St. Lawrence's Church, Scunthorpe and the proceeds, after expenses, were donated to charity. This year we supported the Disasters Emergency Committee EBOLA Crisis appeal.

Resonances Visit

Our friends from Sallanches visited in May 2013, this time travelling by plane to Manchester airport before spending 5 days staying wioth members of the choir, their friends and families. As well as performing at St.Lawrences and in Epworth our shared musical activities included attending a rehearsal of the Cooperative Junior Choir. Most of the group visited Cleethoprea and Castle Howard, and we took the opportunity to share various social efents including a barn dance and supper at Appleby Village Hall.

Fiesta - time in Ferreirola

August 2011 saw the Lydian Choir taking part in the Fiesta celebrations at the Alpujarran village of Ferreirola in Southern Spain. The village is in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada moutains, south of Granada in Andalusia. We joined the local Coro Sur De Granada to give concerts in 3 local churches and managed to find time to enjoy the local wine and cuisine.

Return trip to Sallanches

Members of the choir and some of their partners made a return visit to Sallanches in June 2010 and were once again hosted by Resonances. We had a memorable trip including visits to Chamonix and Annecy, and very generous hospitality featuring a good deal of local food and wine....

We also managed to find time for some singing - on our own in Chamonix and in a joint concert in Sallanches.
