MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL LANGFORD PARISH MEETING HELD IN LANGFORD &  ULTING VILLAGE HALL ON TUESDAY 27th APRIL 2010 AT 7.30PM.

Those present: Roy Pipe, Leigh Daynes, David Robinson, Andrew Tween, Katherine Palmer, Jenny Clemo and one member of the public.

1. The previous minutes of 5th May 2009.

The minutes were taken as read, agreed as a true record and signed by the Chairman.

2. Matters arising.

a) Langford Waterworks Site - The nursing home plans have been called in by the region.  No decision will be made until after the Parliamentary election on the 6th May.  Planning applications for five private houses had been turned down on design by Maldon District Council.

3. Chairmans Report.

a) Village Shop - Business is still quiet but the shop is now open on Saturday mornings.  The Chairman had suggested that an open day should be held so that people could see what is available.

b) Langford Waterworks Site - The Planning Inspector allowed both appeals resulting in the site now having planning permission for the original modern design and  all B1 uses.  Maldon District Council have done their best to accommodate what the parish wants and there is now scope for a small amount of housing in Langford.

c) Village Gateways - These have been installed at either side of Langford.  A complaint had been received from Mr. Howie regarding the gateway near Ulting Lane.  When turning right out of Ulting Lane whilst driving a tractor, visibility is obstructed by the sign above the gateway.

4. Items from the parishioners.

None.

There being no other business the meeting closed at 7.43pm.
