Organised by Kingston Faith and Belief Forum, this important inter-faith and community event provided an opportunity to learn the lessons of the past, honour the experiences of people affected by the Holocaust, and challenge ourselves to work for a safer and fairer future. The theme was 'Bridging Generations'.
Guest speaker: We werehonoured to be joined by Holocaust survivor, Peter Lantos BEM. Peter Laszlo Lantos BEM FMedSci (born 1939) is a British scientist and author of Hungarian Jewish origin. After surviving the Holocaust, he went on to undertake medical studies. He moved to the United Kingdom in 1968 where he worked as a Professor of Neuropathology, specialising in neurodegenerative diseases. Apart from research, he was also responsible for the neuropathology diagnostic service covering a catchment area of 3.4 million people. In retirement, he has published books for both adults and children relating to his experience of the Holocaust and he is involved in Holocaust education.
