Show Report
Despite some very poor weather and several of our usual exhibitors away due to the proximity of the Easter holidays, we had 15 entrants putting in a total of 72 entries and the hall looked wonderful as you walked in. The main winner at the show was David Ridgway who gained the Wingletang Trophy for most points in bulb classes and the Pot Plant Trophy for most points in the pot plant classes. The two new entrants were only narrowly beaten for these trophies by Mr Ridgway. Mr Ridgway also won the Spring Challenge Trophy for most points in show and was awarded the Best in Show for the Narcissus vase of Marieke narcissus in his Master Class entry. Deborah Hulett won the Ray Taylor Cup and Kathy Gray was awarded the best domestic entry for a jar of pickle onions. Bethany & Tobias Berry and Alexander Powell all were awarded first places in the children’s classes.
The show had some new people entering and more visitors than usual viewing with the cakes and raffle tickets selling out. Hopefully this is a good sign for the future of your show.
