Show Report
The Kimble and Ellesborough Spring Show was held in the Stewart Hall, Little Kimble on Sunday 2nd April. There were 83 exhibits on the benches provided by 10 members; some of these were members new to the Society and showing for their first time. The competition was very close with only a few points separating the winners from the runners-up for many trophies. Sue Towersey won the Spring Challenge Cup, for the most points in the Show, the Masterclass, an exhibit of four items. the Ray Taylor Cup for most points in the preserve classes and was awarded the Best Horticultural award for her orchid in her Master Class exhibit. David Ridgway won the Wingletang Trophy, for the most points in the bulb classes, the six Vase Championship as well as Pot Plant Trophy. Cathy Gray was awarded the Best Domestic exhibit prize for her jar of Lemon Curd. Alison Berry won class 52, Floral Art and Mary Redding won the Open Floral Art Class 202. A large number of visitors viewed the show during the afternoon, many partaking of the cakes (which sold out) tea and coffee.
Thank you from all of the Show Committee for all those who helped and entered to make it a wonderful friendly show considering the amount of rain we had last month.
