Show Report - Sunday 1 September 2024
Well what a show. The erratic weather created a lot of uncertainty about what would be ready to exhibit at the show resulting in some last minute entries and adjustments to the show bench plan.
On Saturday morning. I finished getting my entries ready and completed the show bench plan. Thanks to all the members who turned up in the afternoon to set the show benches up.
I arrived on Sunday morning to open the hall and put my entries in the show. The other showers arrived during the morning with a few more late entries. Organised chaos ensued trying to fit them in. In total we had 153 entries entered by 14 members, the most entries for many years.
The judges arrived and said it was great to see a hall full of exhibits, as some shows they have been to have been a bit sparse.
The main cup winner of the day was Karen Eves, a new member of our society. All the people who entered obtained at least one first place. Cakes sold out and the raffle was very busy all afternoon, with lots of visitors.
I would like to thank all the entrants and people who helped hold our great show, long may it continue.
