1-6 Sermon’s AlmshousesSermon’s Almshouses were built and endowed in 1843 by Mrs Sarah Sermon and attest this on a wall plaque which reads ‘These almshouses were built and endowed by Mrs Sarah Sermon AD 1843.’


Sarah was married to John Sermon church warden of All Saints circa 1828 and a benefactor of the Green School.  Sarah died in October 1849 pre-deceased by her husband.


There were originally 6 almshouses but this number was increased by Isleworth & Hounslow Charity to 9 in 2009 by the addition of a new block of 2 one-bedroom flats and 1 studio flat on a small site adjacent to the existing almshouses.


Preference for occupation is given to men and women over 50 years of age.
