Last year the current organisers of the Hanborough Show announced they were standing down and invited others in the parish to step forward and keep the tradition going. We now read in February's Hanborough Herald there is insufficient interest to call an intitial meeting and that if there is still insufficient interest at the end of February there will be no show this year.
So if you value the show, do help if you can. If there is to be no show in 2018 then it is likely that Saturday in September could be be snapped up for this and succeeding years by an alternative booking, because in the cricket season there are usually no other free Saturdays.

Just to let everyone know, further to a collection at the netball event that was held a while ago, we will be planting a tree on the Hanborough Playing Fields in memory of Emma on Sunday Feb 25th at 1pm. It won't be a big, organised event but all are welcome and very many thanks to all who contributed
Hanborough Sports and Social Club is the HPFA body that holds the alcohol and entertainment licence for the Pavilion and runs the bar. As it is a club residents of Hanborough need to be members of the club to use the bar but lifetime membership costs just £5.00. You can join at any open bar night.
On the first Friday of each month the bar is open for a convivial social evening. Many of these evenings feature Bingo for charity in the main hall and the two biggest last year raised £550 and £800 for the day care centre in Long Hanborough and the homeless of Oxford respectively.
Open bar dates for all of 2018 are in the events calendar.
