Hampton Hill Community Choir (HHCC) is just what it says on the tin!

  • We sing in Hampton Hill.
  • We are a community that is also a choir. (And if you're a solitary type, you are also welcome.)
  • We have no auditions.
  • We are open to all.

Now that we have a reasonably sized Baritone section, we often sing in three parts, otherwise unison. The music ranges from medieval to modern and from serious to silly. Since January 2023, we have had the privilege of having a pianist (Susan Humphris) accompany us at every rehearsal, with Fiz Markham as our Musical Director.

April 2024

We are looking forward to our concert on July 4th 2024 at 8pm at Hampton Hill United Reformed Church, 35 High Street. The songs are about Love. Entrance is free. We welcome donations. Cash is generally easier from our point of view, but we can do contactless.

To help us estimate how much cake to provide at our concert, please register your planned presence for free at https://www.tickettailor.com/.../hamptonhillcommu.../1300306

You don't need to bring the ticket with you.

Since September 2022 we have grown from about 20 to about 30 singers and need to keep to that size otherwise we'll outgrow our base! Every term there are comings and goings and we will always do our best to accommodate all who approach us. It is better to arrive having told us you will be coming - then we can make sure we have enough seats and music for everyone who will be arriving that evening.

Normally, we rehearse every Thursday in term-time until our performance at the end of term. In 2024, we are going to experiment with having a long period before a concert in July, allowing for some more challenging material.

A normal rehearsal

People arrive from 730ish for a 740 start. We rehearse until about 830 when we have a break to drink tea/coffee and scoff lovely CAKE provided by a singer who loves to bake. We resume after 20 minutes - normally requiring quite a bit of nagging as folk love to chat - and finish at 930.

Thinking you can't sing is no excuse. Warm-ups pay attention to singing healthily and well. Soon you'll realise you CAN sing! AND singing releases endorphins - something we can all benefit from.
