Hampton Heath Friends is a new volunteer community group dedicated to the public open spaces surrounding David Lloyd, Hampton in SW London). The area lies between Hampton Hill, Fulwell, Hanworth and Hampton, in the London Borough of Richmond, and was once part of the historic Hounslow Heath.
It includes some acid grassland, scrub habitats, mature oak and pine trees and is part of a wider Site of Interest for Nature Conservation (SINC).
The London Loop long distance walking route passes through, and the area is protected by Metrolitan Open Land status.
Hampton Heath Friends started with a three-month Big Clean Up project - meeting each weekend to clear more than 20 years of accumulated litter and fly-tipping from January 2022
We are now working on projects to protect, and enhance and increase the range of habitats on site, to engage the surrounding communities and businesses and improve public access.
If you'd like to help us with litter-picking or conservation work, or have ideas, skills or time to offer, please...
