Mission
EMCA connects and supports individuals, grassroots groups and community initiatives working with Global Majority & under-represented communities across Edinburgh, using shared resources, mutual learning, and collective organising in solidarity to challenge structural oppression.
Strategic Aims
Redistribution and Empowerment – Shifting power and resources by providing funding, training, and tailored support to strengthen the capacity, awareness, and engagement of individuals, organisations, and the institutions that affect the lives of our communities.
Recognition and Solidarity – Building a city-wide movement of connection, cultural expression, and collective action. Together with our members, we create spaces that celebrate our identities, strengthen solidarity, and amplify the visibility of our communities.
Representation and Collective Advocacy – Acting together as a unified voice to influence policy and decision-making, and to support our communities to be decision-makers. We work to ensure change reflects our lived realities and upholds our right to shape our own lives.
