Our now regular summer vintage tea was a delightful community event. The hall looked the part with wonderful flower arrangements, proper tablecloths, delicate china and a final outing for the coronation bunting. The tasty sandwiches and cakes were contributed by villagers which enabled us to make it a free event. The servers and service were excellent. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon, left some lovely comments and left with some lovely memories.
We take the hall’s location for granted but it possibly has the best views from a Village Hall in the county. Anyone disagree? We have now submitted an application to become a registered charity. This won’t protect the future of the hall but it may smooth options for whatever happens at the end of the lease in six years’ time. Have a think about whether you’d like to keep a community centre in the village and if you do come along, book the one you have at present, or let us know your thoughts.
The community coffee morning is the first (non-Bank Holiday) Monday of each month and the Come and Join Us craft afternoon is the second Wednesday of each month. Don’t miss the autumn/Christmas fair on Saturday 21st October where products from the craft afternoons will be for sale along with other stalls. And having mentioned Christmas make a date in your diary for the ever- popular Christmas village gathering that is ‘Punch Pies and Carols’ on Friday 8th December.
Do check the calendar for our regular and special events and remember your hall is available to book. The hall is accessible with kitchen facilities. We have wi-fi and are fully licensed for live and recorded music.
The hall now has a website e-voice.org.uk/ecvh/ as well as its facebook page.
