Flicks in the Sticks comes to Eaton Constantine! And its AGM time - do come!
Richard Burton is coming to Eaton Constantine. Yes, that one, but without Liz Taylor. Come and enjoy his early days in the film ‘Mr Burton’ (2025) showing at our Village Hall 7pm Wednesday 15th October. It’s got great reviews.
This is first of three films we aim to be showing the third Wednesday of the next three months. For 19th November we have requested ‘Bridget Jones – Mad About the Boy’ (2025) and for 17th December ‘Christmas Carol’ (1984), the one shot in Shrewsbury. Entry will be £5 adult, £2 under 18. There will be an interval but bring your own refreshments please. We aim to have our usual café style layout and for it to be a social as well as a cheap entertaining local evening out.
The Vintage Tea in July was well supported and much enjoyed. The picture shows a quiet moment before the lovely Vintage Tea afternoon. A full house of 40 enjoyed a tasty community get together. Thanks to all who helped out in every way and thanks to everyone who came along. Donations to Village hall funds totalled a generous £300.
From Shropshire Star 1972. Did any readers attend?
The Village Hall AGM with a short history of the Village Hall in words, pictures and sound archive will take place 7pm Monday 27th October. The Village Hall is now a Charity (Reg No 1208505) but the community that has used and still uses the hall is much more than just a building. The lease has 3 years to run. Do come and hear the committee’s annual report and contribute to the thinking about the future. If you’d like to stand for election to the Village Hall committee please let Sheila, our secretary, know by 10th October.
