- There’s been a village hall here in the same spot for nearly 100 years
- The hall was bought, transported and put up by people from the village
- It’s been managed, maintained and improved by volunteers from the village
- The hall is spacious and light, warm and cosy, with fabulous views
- It’s the local community hub where people can meet and share in activities together
- It’s seen national celebrations and family parties for all life’s events
- It’s a hall for everyone, with modern facilities, accessible to all and for hire
- The last couple of months have seen
- the village history exhibition (with 120 people attending over five sessions)
- ‘Opera for the People’ (with 49 people enjoying a unique music event)
- St George’s Day roast beef lunch with fun and flag waving
- Family parties and other private hire
- Coffee mornings, Come and Join Us, WI, Parish Council
- Times change but our users think the hall’s community value is irreplaceable
- Our lease expires in less than four years. Then the village hall may be no more
So far our request to renew the lease has not been successful.
