Following June’s AGM we have two years in which the hall will continue as it is. 2027 is our centenary and we will be looking to celebrate that with a mix of events. After that we are proposing we accept the end of lease in March 2029 and the closure of the hall. See the last edition of UTW (or last news update) for the background to this decision.
The charity known as Eaton Constantine Village Hall can carry on. Hopefully we will have funds left after the hall’s closure so we can look to organise events in other locations within or beyond the village. Like a pop-up Village Hall!
Soon after August’s coffee morning, on Saturday 8th August come along and enjoy our annual vintage tea. Coffee mornings (perhaps Lego will launch a village hall set) take place on the first Monday of each month for the rest of the year. Our next music event is on Saturday 17th October with the return of Heidi Browne who sang her delicately crafted rootsy songs for us six years ago.
Should we continue showing films in the hall with Flicks in the Sticks? If so what films and when? We don’t have blackout blinds and we can’t use the bright heaters but at £5 per ticket it’s great value and the list of available films, old and very new, is vast.Update: First film Song Sung Blue booked for 7pm 16th September.
We’ve already booked two Arts Alive events for 2027. Reserve these dates: Sunday 31st January for the humorous Pocket Choral Society and Thursday 15th April for a Simon and Garfunkel celebration. For the hall’s centenary tell us what you would like to see, do, join in with or organise.

We now have a donated wheelchair in the hall which is available for short term loans.
