Eaton Constantine Village Hall – Now a Registered Charity and Time for Vintage Tea

Our D-Day 80 event in the Village started with St Mary’s church bell and continued on at the Village Hall. Kerry Young in army uniform hit the mood perfectly with a set of nostalgic songs before the fish and chip interval, a touching recitation and the remembrance tribute. Then she upped the tempo. Dancing and flag waving followed. It were lovely.

We’re now taking bookings for our popular Summer Vintage Tea. This will be on Saturday 10th August at 3pm. All welcome. There will be no charge but we are hoping for optional small donations so it can be self-funding.

Monday 30th September 7pm we will be holding a short AGM followed by another Village pictures slideshow including some from Shropshire Archives (here is the old Cressage bridge and Toll House). The Village Hall is now a registered Charity (Number 1208505) which helps us to understand our options as we are into our last 5 years of the hall’s lease. If you’re interested in joining the committee as a charity trustee let us know by early September.  Old Cressage Bridge6 piece jazz band

Our next music event is Band on the Edge, Saturday 16th November. A jazz band with something for everyone.

The Shropshire Village Halls Quiz League is held at different halls and we usually host once a year. Eaton Constantine came joint fourth out of 31 teams in 2023/24. If you’re thinking you might like to take part in the Quiz or help out do contact us. You don’t have to be a resident of Eaton Constantine.

Do check the UTW calendar for our regular and special events and remember your hall is available to book. The hall is accessible with kitchen facilities – and in July a brand new fridge. We have wi-fi and are fully licensed for live and recorded music.

At our June coffee morning West Mercia Police referred to useful security guidance at www.getsafeonline.org. Lastly the bench outside the village hall is back, newly renovated thanks to Ray Owen. Try it out for a fabulous view.
