We are a not-for-profit group promoting traditional and modern rug making - hooky, proddy, braiding, locker-hook, punch hook, peg loom, punch needle etc. We also promote other fibre crafts such as spinning, felting, dyeing, weaving, and knitting.

We now meet at Gala Theatre Coffee Shop, Durham on Mondays from 10.00am to 12.00.

We meet at Bowburn Community Centre on Wednesdays from 10.00am to 13.00. See calendar for dates.

The Group exhibits and demonstrates at public events, schools and community venues on invitation.

Formerly known as Durham Clayport Matters, the group changed its name to Durham Rug Makers in 2014 to reflect the wider interests of the members.
