Hi DUGs,
We’ve got a lively few weeks ahead, with Strumday rehearsals, community performances and two exciting local events on the horizon. Read on for the key dates, ways to practise and plenty of chances to join the fun!
Loch Lomond Strumday
Our two Strumday songs are Teach Your Children and Friday I’m in Love—a cracking pair of tunes to get everyone singing along.
Performing with us? Please try to join us in the hall before the main meeting for one final run-through at 6.45 pm this Wednesday.
Until then, warm up those fingers and practise at home with our play-along videos, created from group recordings:
Those attending will receive the Big Strum set list, song sheets and directions in a separate email—so keep an eye on your inbox.
Dementia Friendly Dunblane
Venue: Braeport Centre, Dunblane, FK15 0AT
Date and time: Friday 9 October, 1.30 pm
We’re thrilled to have been invited back to play for the Dunblane dementia group. These visits are always a joy: the welcome is wonderfully warm, and sharing music and good company makes for a very special afternoon.
With songbooks ready for the audience, there should be plenty of chances for everyone to join in. Expect a cheerful, feel-good afternoon filled with familiar tunes.
Free that afternoon? Come along and be part of it—the more voices and ukuleles, the merrier!

Teith Fest
Friday–Sunday, 13th–15th November, with most events taking place in the Rural Hall.
A brand-new celebration is coming to Doune!
Teith Fest aims to bring renowned music acts to the village, sponsored by Doune Gala Committee and supported by Stirling Pride.
We’ve been invited to host an ‘Introduction to the Ukulele’ session on Saturday morning, 14th November. Members of the public can pick up a ukulele, have a go and sing along with us. It’s a brilliant chance to support this new village event—and perhaps welcome a few new members too.
Ready to find out more? See the full programme and book tickets at Teith Fest.
Stirling School of English—St Andrew’s Day Ceilidh
Date and time: Monday 23 November, 6.00 pm
Venue: Albert Halls, Dumbarton Road, Stirling, FK8 2QL
Get ready for a festive evening: Stirling School of English is hosting a St Andrew’s Day ceilidh at the Albert Halls.
We’ve been invited to play a lively 10–15-minute set during the break. Once the ukuleles are packed away, we can join the dancing and tuck into some stovies!
The organisers need numbers for catering, so please let us know if you’re planning to come.
We expect to perform at around 7.00 pm. Can’t stay for the full evening? No problem—you’re very welcome to come along just for our set.
Watch out for a WhatsApp poll shortly, and please respond there if you can make it.
One important date reminder: although St Andrew’s Day falls on Monday 30 November, the ceilidh is one week earlier, on Monday 23 November.
