Hi DUGs,

A big welcome to our new member, Alma. Alma took part in the Ukulele Lessons at the Library over the last three Saturday mornings, along with our other new members, Ann and Jen.
I would like to thank Alison for allowing us to use the library. And also, Tom for helping out at these lessons. This was a new venture and I think it went very well. I do intend to run the lessons again in the future, so if you know anyone who might be interested, just let me know.

We spent some time working on the Rock 'n' Roll Medley again last week, but I think it was worth it. I think we've nearly cracked it.
Bearing in mind, we had no bass and no cajon, we sounded great.

I've attached the recording from last week's meeting.
Sound files of the original songs can be found on our web site:
There is also a play along video, if you want to practice at home.

Listening to the original songs helped us get the singing so much sharper and, well, Rock and Roll!
We also gave Dave the space to play the turnaround at the end of See You Later, which was excellent!

Adding the little instrumental at the end of See You Later makes the transition to Johhny B Goode more satisfactory.
I wonder if we can finish with the turnaround, rather than the  ? We could try it on Wednesday.

DUG T-shirts

We have been asked about ordering group T-shirts.
Colin has kindly agreed to organise this, as he has for previous orders.
Last time we put an order in, we ordered a few extra to keep in stock for new members.
We only have four of these left (two small, and two XL).
Orders for single, or small numbers of T-shirts can be quite expensive, so we will order a few shirts to replenish stocks, and keep the individual costs down.
If you would like to order yourself a DUG T-shirt, please let me know.

There was talk of T-shirts in other colours. You can, of course, order any colour you like. But, for group performances, I would prefer we all had the same T-shirt colour,

Playlist

No new songs this week. I've started the playlist with three nice, easy songs. We have been playing these in our Ukulele Lessons at the Library.
The rest of the list comprises of our most recent additions.

I have also included Yellow on the Broom. Jackie and I were driving over to Alloa last week and noticed the Broom starting to flower on the Ochills. A sign that spring has arrived!

Enjoy Yourself

Octopus’s Garden

BraveUke

Just a reminder for those who will be performing at the BraveUke festival in May. We will be meeting an hour early at the Rural Hall for some rehearsal time (6.30). I realise not all of you will be able to make it, but I think there will be enough of us to make a start.
