Hi DUGs,

Workshop

Don't forget, this week will be the start of Sarah's 2026 Workshop Sessions.

In this first session, Sarah will be concentrating on two songs - Whistle for the Choir and Somewhere in my Heart. She will be focusing on the chords and chord progressions for both. I have attached Sarah's worksheet/song sheet for Somewhere in my Heart.
As always, if you are not familiar with the song, it is worth a listen before the session:  Somewhere in my Heart

Just a reminder - WORKSHOPS ARE OPEN TO MEMBERS ONLY

Last call for BraveUke Tickets

We still have two spare tickets for the BraveUke Festival in Dunblane, 1-3 May.
At a cost of £61.50, we don't want to be stuck with these tickets, so will be offering them to members of other groups.
I just want to make sure our members have the opportunity to take them first.
Please let me, or John Gallacher know ASAP, thanks.

BraveUke Practice/Rehearsals

We have narrowed down the setlist to seven songs:

Friday, I'm in Love
Someone You Loved
Teach Your Children*
This Is The Life
Fisherman's Blues
It's Raining Again*
Walking on the Waves

*We are still working on It's Raining Again and Teach Your Children with the whole group, and will continue to do so until we are happy with the outcomes.
The other songs will just be practiced by the BraveUke performers, away from the main group. That way, our playlist for the next couple of months will not be dominated by these seven songs!

Once we have got this week's workshop out the way, I will contact the BraveUke group to organise practice sessions.

Piano/Keyboard

Okay, this one is a bit random!
John G and I had a meeting a couple of weeks ago with Keith from the Rural Hall Committee, to discuss some of the issues raised at our AGM.
Keith asked us if our group make use of the Hall's new piano/keyboard (technically, a clavinova).
This got John and I thinking. Could we make use of a keyboard to accompany any of our songs?
I know we have some 'real' musicians in the group. Do any of you have any keyboard skills that could add to our offerings?
