Hi DUGs,
We are making some progress in the preparations for our performances at Findhorn and Loch Lomond.
We have, just about, decided on our two songs - This is the Life, and Home.
Some of us will be meeting an hour early again this Wednesday. I am so grateful to those who have been able join us these recent weeks. It means three hours of ukulele playing - which sounds fun (and it is!), but it can also be quite a challenge. The good news is, you all get a break next week, as Jackie and I will be down in Lancashire. But the 7.30 - 9.30 meeting will go ahead as normal.
Upcoming Events
Other than the two events already mentioned, we don't have a lot in the calendar over the next few months.
I am still waiting for Sarah to get back to me with a date for the next Workshop.
I have been asked by the Dunblane Dementia Group if we can perform at a Community Celebration on Sunday, 26th October. 2-4pm at the Braeport Centre, Dunblane. If you think you will be able to come along and play at this event, let me know as soon as possible, and I will confirm the date.
I know with all the nice summery weather we are having, nobody will be looking too far ahead... but Christmas is getting nearer! 🎅
We have a booking for the Doune Dementia Group Christmas Party. No doubt there will be some other seasonal events to come.
Playlist
Obviously, we will have another go at This is the Life, and Home.
I would also like to continue with House of the Rising Sun. I think we are very close to perfecting this one and I'd like to get a video of our performance soon.
Other than that, I've kept the playlist fairly short, so we can make some choices on the night. Have a look at the list, so we can play some of your favourites!
I was speaking to someone at the weekend who lives on North Lea, in one of the houses adjacent to the Rural Hall. They were telling me how they can hear us playing and singing, and how nice it always sounds - At least we're not disturbing the peace!
