Hi DUGs,

What a night!
A big, big THANK YOU to everyone who came to our 2nd-anniversary meeting.
We had a great turnout - 24 of us, joint highest attendance.
I am still amazed at how far we have come as a group.

Our 'photo session' was such a success (and a lot of FUN).
I have wanted to get a good group photo for a while now.

This week's playlist has been selected by Hazel and Gemma.

Their new song suggestion surprised me on two counts:
This song was only released just over a month ago - DUGs doing contemporary!
But, even more surprising - I never, in my wildest dreams, ever thought we would be doing a Beyonce song!?!?!

To be fair, Beyonce, known as one of the world's top R&B performers, surprised everyone with her new 'Country' song, Texas Hold 'Em.

For those of you not as up-to-the-minute as Hazel, Gemma, and I 😂, here is a link to the video:

The song sheet is in the Dropbox folder:

Scottish Ukulele Mini-fest

Ukey Hooky, Falkirk's ukulele group. are planning a Ukulele Mini-fest in June this year.

The Scottish Ukulele Mini-fest will be a one-day event where the Ukulele groups across the Central Belt can come together and take part in the activities; Workshops, Jam Sessions, Open Mic, and Performances.

I spoke to the organiser this week and he would very much like DUG to take part. Obviously, I will speak to the group about this on Wednesday, but I indicated that I would like us to take part.

I have attached the draft programme of activities so you can get an idea of what they have planned.
