We’re delighted to welcome several new members recently, including some complete beginners. I know starting something new can feel a little daunting, so I’m going to run short, friendly Beginners’ Sessions on Wednesday evenings for 30–40 minutes before our main meeting.
These sessions are not just for complete beginners — they’ll also be helpful for anyone who is still near the start of their ukulele journey. And even if you already have a little experience, revisiting the basics can be a great confidence boost.

The event is only six weeks away, so we really need to decide on a couple of songs to perform.

Derek has also suggested a new song for us... a raucous pop punk classic, and it is a cracker! Teenage Kicks was Northern Irish Punk band, The Undertones' debut single in 1978.
BBC Radio DJ, John Peel famously stated "Teenage Kicks" to be his all-time favourite song. He requested sections of the lyrics of the song be engraved upon his tombstone.

Sarah, calls it a 'Super Easy' beginners' song. Certainly, the C Am verses, and the F G chorus, are very straightforward. But there's a nifty little Cmaj7 change in the verses that take a bit of practice.
