Hi DUGs,
Workshops
Our first workshop of the year will be next Wednesday, 25th February
WORKSHOPS ARE OPEN TO MEMBERS ONLY
From our suggestions, Sarah has chosen three songs to work with:
I am looking forward to next week, it'll be good fun!I have chosen three songs for you.1. Whistle for the choir - it has one chord progression that repeats throughout and I have lots of ideas on how we can play around and learn this one! The key you've chosen is really nice and there are lots of possibilities with it too!2. Somewhere In My Heart - a bit trickier to memorise the chord progressions, but is a nice one to do! It has a cool little 4 note riff that can be implemented too to make it a little sparklier3. Sweet Child Of Mine / A Little Respect - I haven't decided which of these yet. Let's leave this one as a wee surprise and I'll have a think too!
BraveUke Setlist
After our debate between members, followed by discussion between those who will be performing at BraveUke, we have come up with a provisional setlist.
Dave Bright suggested the following:
My thoughts from the main list is that we do these five (main set) and pick one of the next two as a sixth song if we have time.(Main Set)Friday, I'm in LoveSomeone You LovedTeach Your ChildrenThis Is The LifeFisherman's Blues(Sixth song)It's Raining AgainWalking on the Waves
Those who responded mostly agreed with Dave.
These seven songs are more or less what I would have picked, but not necessarily in that order...
Playlist
I'm putting the seven BraveUke songs on, obviously.
I've put I'm A Believer in, as we have been working on the riff for the last couple of weeks.
We play The Monkees version of I'm a Believer, but of course, it was written by Neil Diamond.
Jackie and I went to see the film, Song Sung Blue at the weekend. If you haven't seen it yet, I would thoroughly recommend it. Great film, great story, and great music (who doesn't love Neil Diamond).
So, I've also put in a lovely song that I've had on the back burner for a while now... Song Sung Blue. Very easy to play and sing.
Just to round it off, we have to play Sweet Caroline!

DUG Song Sheets
Now that we are no longer using printed song sheets at our meetings, all new songs will be put on the website, rather than attached to these emails. If you want to practice any of our songs, you can view/download all our songs here: Our Songs
