Hi DUGs,
Here’s this week’s newsletter, with final preparations for Loch Lomond Strumday, details of our upcoming visit to Dementia Friendly Dunblane, and the latest on the beginners’ sessions.

Loch Lomond Strumday

We’ve chosen our two songs for Strumday: Teach Your Children and Friday I’m in Love. Both will be on the playlists for the next couple of weeks so we can get them performance-ready.
If you’re performing, please join us for a final rehearsal at 6.45 pm next Wednesday, 30 September, in the hall. The beginners’ sessions will have finished by then. I’ll send another reminder in next week’s newsletter.
In the meantime, you can practise at home using these play-along videos, based on group recordings:

Dementia Friendly Dunblane

On the Friday after Strumday, we’ll be playing for the dementia group in Dunblane. We ran through the setlist a couple of week’s ago, and Ken Russell recorded us. We sounded great! I’ll share the recordings on the DUGs website as soon as I can.
For full details, visit the Events Calendar.

Beginners’ Sessions

This week marks the end of the current run of beginners’ sessions. We’ll recap what we’ve covered and share a few more tips for practising at home.
Session notes are available in the website’s Resources section: Beginners’ Sessions.

DUG Song Sheets

Now that we are no longer using printed song sheets at our meetings, all new songs will be put on the website, rather than attached to these emails. If you want to practice any of our songs, you can view/download all our songs here: Our Songs
