Hi DUGs,
I realise that, between flu epidemics and other commitments, that many of you won't make it, but we will be meeting tomorrow, 17th December. This will be our last meeting of the year. As Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve fall on Wednesdays this year, I don't think we would have had a very high attendance (and I'm very busy on Christmas Eve! 🎅 )
We will start back on January 7th.
Doune Dementia Group Christmas Party
Seven of us performed at the Dementia Group party.
There is a short video compilation on our YouTube channel:
A big thanks to the performers, I had nice feedback from the group. We were very much appreciated.
Workshop
Sarah has sent me a summary of the workshop and links to some of her online tutorials. I will try to get these out o you as soon as I get a bit of spare time.
Playlist
Last week, only eleven of us made it to the meeting. We had a go at a few of our Christmas songs. A combination of the small number, and the fact that we hadn't played many of them since last year, meant a few of them were a bit shaky (also not helped by the fact that I'm struggling a bit). Since it's the last meeting before Christmas, I think we should try some of them again this week. There might even be a new Christmas song thrown in.
We will leave plenty of time for the second half to play some of our favourites to see the year out.
Pauline, our new secretary, will be setting up a WhatsApp Group, as discussed at the AGM. This will be a great help to keep track of communications, particularly with regards to events and performances. We will be very careful to ensure that notifications will be kept to a minimum. I am very hopeful this system will work. It will certainly make my job easier.
