Hi DUGs,

Town Break Dementia Support

A big thanks to all those of you who came along to the Town Break gig last Wednesday afternoon, especially those of you who made it to the BraveUke practice later, with barely time to get a bite to eat in between. Real dedication!
And a great big thanks to our new member, Derek McGlone, who has only been playing the ukulele for two or three weeks. Derek came along and joined in. Well done Derek!

We had a great afternoon. The Town Break members joined in with singing (very loud at times!) and dancing. It was a terrific atmosphere. We were treated to tea and cakes during the break.

BraveUke

After a lot of hard work and helpful input (thanks particulary, Dave B and Alison I), I think we are fairly close to finalising our setlist.

I'm going to put all the songs on our main group playlist for the next week or two. We will all need to learn how we play them anyway, and it will give the BraveUkers a bit more practice, as well as letting those who can't get to the earlier session a chance to learn the changes we have made.
We also have the Doune Music Night coming up, just two weeks after BraveUke, so it will be good to make sure we all know what we're doing, as we will be doing the same setlist.

I've started to put notes, links, and audio files on the web site - these are still subject to change - but some of you may find them useful. I'm going to try and record all the songs this week to create Play-alongs for the web site too.

They are all in the Members' Area:  BraveUke 2026

Doune Music Night

The second Doune Music Night will be on Saturday 16 May, 17:30 to 20:30.
This fund-raising event for the Doune and Deanston Youth Project was very well attended last year, and this year promises to be just as successful.
As well as supporting a valuable local project, this will be a good showcase for the group.
If you think you will be able to come along, please let me or Pauline know.

The Setlist will be the same songs we have been working on for BraveUke, so we should be well rehearsed.

Playlist

As I mentioned earlier, we are going to start with the BraveUke setlist for the next week or two.
We have tweaked and refined most of the songs on the list. I'm sure you will enjoy them all.
For the rest of the playlist, I've just grabbed a few of my current favourites. If you'd like to have some of your favourites in the coming weeks, just give me a shout.

DUG Song Sheets

Now that we are no longer using printed song sheets at our meetings, all new songs will be put on the website, rather than attached to these emails. If you want to practice any of our songs, you can view/download all our songs here: Our Songs
