Halloween
What a great turn out for our Halloween Night!
Good to see so many Guisers getting in the spirit of the event (we don't talk about the elephant in the room!)
We played a Halloween themed playlist - With hindsight, maybe too many unfamiliar songs, but I hope you all still had fun.
A great big thanks to those who brought along cakes and biscuits.
There is a little video compilation of the evening on our YouTube channel: Halloween 2025
The Hearse Song is also there.
Dunblane Dementia
I received a lovely email from Caroline, the organiser, thanking us for our participation. She was particularly impressed (and surprised) by our Lady Gaga and Beyoncé songs.
A video compilation of our performance is now on YouTube: Dunblane Dementia
Workshop
Following on from Sarah's workshop, we are going to have a look at Chasing Cars this week.
Sarah sent me some notes on how we should proceed.
Before we get into the intricacies, we'll just play it through a couple of times to make sure we are all familiar with the chords and the timing.
We will have a look at the finger picking, but we'll leave the twinkly chords for next week.
As always, it is helpful if you have a listen to the original song before we start: Chasing Cars
Playlist
I'm keeping the playlist fairly short this week. We will spend some time on Chasing Cars, then play through some of our most recent new songs.
This should leave us plenty of time to choose a few favourites.
Chasing Cars
Fisherman's Blues
I'll Tell Me Ma
It's Raining Again
Walking on Sunshine
DUG Song Sheets
Now that we are no longer using printed song sheets at our meetings, all new songs will be put on the website, rather than attached to these emails. If you want to practice any of our songs, you can view/download all our songs here: Our Songs
