Hi DUGs,

Ukulele Festival
The Falkirk Ukulele Festival will be on Sunday, 30th June.
We have decided that our members will be able to go to the festival at no cost.
Just make sure you let me know you intend to attend, and we will sort out tickets.

This is a full day event (10.30 - 8.00 pm). However, if the full day is too much for you, just come along for part of the day.

Six Ukulele Groups from across the Central Belt of Scotland will be taking part.
The day will begin with The Big Strum - All the groups will join together for a strumalong.

From 11.30 am - 5.00 pm, there will be the Group Performances - Each group will perform throughout the day, each playing for around 30 minutes. DUGs will be performing at 2.30. It would be good to have as many members as possible for this!

During the afternoon there will be various Workshops. From beginner to advanced, there's something for everyone. These have to be booked in advance. There will be a cost to these workshops - full details on the Ukey Hooky website.

If you fancy showcasing your talent, there will be Open Mic spots. Depending on numbers, these will be limited to three songs (10 minutes. Again, places can be booked on the Ukey Hooky website.

There will be a final Jam Session, with all groups taking part at 5.45, followed at 6.30 by an Evening Concert  with a Swing/Jazz-style Ukulele ensemble.

If you would like to take part, please let me know ASAP so I can book our places.

Over 80 Performers from across Central Scotland will come together in this one-day Musical Extravaganza! Group performances, Workshops, Jam Sessions, Open mic, and Evening Concert. More information and tickets from *Ukey Hooky [1]* [1] https://www.ukeyhooky.co.uk/

Doune Dementia Group
We will be performing at the Doune Bowling Club on Thursday 6th June at 1.30 pm. If you can make it, it would be great.

Playlist
This week's playlist has been selected by Jen.
Jen has also suggested a couple of new songs. I am going with Steve Earle's Galway Girl - a firm favourite with ukulele groups. I know we will have fun with it!

DUG Song Sheets
Now that we are no longer using printed song sheets at our meetings, all new songs will be put on the website, rather than attached to these emails. If you want to practice any of our songs, you can view/download all our songs here: Our Songs
