Hi DUGs,
Callander Gathering
11 members performed at the Gathering on a glorious sunny afternoon in Callander. Although we enjoyed ourselves, it was not without its challenges. Outdoor events are difficult, particularly when competing with nearby main road traffic. But our audience seemed appreciative and it is always nice to get out and perform our songs after all the practice.
It was good to support such a worthwhile charity. A great big thank you to all those who were able to come along.
After the event, some of us went on to take part in the Street Celidh. A section of Ancaster Road was closed off for the evening and hundreds of people, from toddlers to tottering oldies, danced together. Wonderful!
Ukulele Workshop - 4th September
Don't forget, it's our first Ukulele Workshop this week.
In this first session, Sarah will give an all-round introduction to how she teaches and a mini-taster of what can be expected.
Sarah has asked that we play a couple of songs so she can see where everyone is at (we will play Shotgun and Part of the Union).
She says she will ask some questions and do some mini-introductions to different music concepts including rhythm, and chord progressions.
Sarah would then like us to choose a song we all love to play and apply some of the things we covered in the first half of the session.
Please try to get to the session on time so we can get the best out of our time with Sarah.

Now that we are no longer using printed song sheets at our meetings, all new songs will be put on the website, rather than attached to these emails. If you want to practice any of our songs, you can view/download all our songs here: Our Songs
